Who runs it
[Operator and contact address to be added.]
What is kept, and why
You need no account, and nobody asks your name. So that Ada knows you when you come back, your browser keeps an anonymous id in a cookie, and the server keeps, under that id:
- everything you and Ada say at her table, and when;
- short notes Ada writes about you from those talks, the way a person remembers;
- your time zone, so she knows what time it is for you.
To keep the cafe from being flooded, the server counts, in memory only and for one day, how often each internet address asks for a reply. Its logs, which may hold addresses, are rotated and kept briefly.
There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Who else handles it
Ada's words are written by a language model run by Venice.ai: each time she answers, or writes her notes, the conversation is sent to it. The site and its backups live on DigitalOcean servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
How long
Until a year after your last visit; then everything about you is deleted automatically. You can delete it all yourself at any time: Settings, then "Forget me". It is gone at once, and Ada will greet you as a stranger.
Your rights
You may ask what is kept about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to it, and you may complain to your data protection authority. Write to the contact above.
The Late Cup is not meant for anyone under 16.
